Shine Bright Burlesque Star Hoodie

    A Burlesque Star shirt dedicated to our Stars of Wollongong Dance for Cancer competitor Kate Gurd aka Dottie Delite. All proceeds from shirts sold by Friday 19 June 2026 will go to the Cancer Council NSW to fund Cancer Support Services across the Illawarra.

    Kate has been learning burlesque since 2018 and she especially loved fan dancing. But a shoulder injury in 2022 saw her take time out for most of the year to have surgery to repair damage and recover. In 2023, with renewed verve, Kate was ready to bring her burlesque persona Dottie Delite back to the burlesque stage. That was until she received the diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer and she began the battle for her life. 

    April 2026 marked 1 year Cancer free, and her dipping her toe back in to Feather Fan Dancing as part of the Stars of Wollongong Dance For Cancer Competition. Kate is learning a routine with Muse School of Burlesque and fundraising as part of her journey.
